Merger Integration Checklist - 5 Things You Should Never Say in Announcing the Deal

Posted on July 22, 2011 at 10:34am 0 Comments

The next time you see or read about a top executive announcing a merger/acquisition, pay close attention. I’m betting the boss mismanages expectations by making at least one of these five common but wrong-headed remarks.

1. “We don’t anticipate making any changes.”

Why wouldn’t you? During a merger or acquisition, people are primed for change. They expect it. So you should use this window of opportunity to make needed changes. No company is perfect.…

The fact is, mergers and acquisitions are one route to corporate growth. And there is a common set of “growing pains” brought about by mergers. When you see these problems developing, you should not take that as clear evidence that the merger is being mishandled by people at the top.

These are predictable problems. They can be found in practically every…

Hi,

I am a private investment banker in Israel, with deep connections with the major local companies looking for $10 - $100 exit range.
I would like to know if you have an official representative in Israel which is very active in the M&A Scene?

Currently I'm closing "representation deals" with top companies who would like an office represent in Israel.

The major benefit of working with me locally is that I conduct closed dinner M&A meetings in Israel for the largest corporate investors which on every meeting they get a teasing presentation from 1 or more companies I represent.

Contact me privately to get to know each other better,
Best Regards,
Doron Sanders

Mr. Pritchett,
Our firm specializes in post acquisition integration, specifically by:

-Helping companies realize the goals of their M&A strategy by following through with integration execution.
-Creating customized, flexible and scalable integration playbooks.
-Creating detailed operational and functional integration plans with tools, templates and reports to support execution.
-Training and help operationalize an Integration Management Offices (IMO) for our clients.

We just finished an engagement with a large Japanese trading company that included the above items, and I didn't know whether it made sense to compare notes at some point for networking or other professional purposes.
I also have spoken to Jim Jeffries in the past regarding the Cockpit automation tool as fyi.

Thank you,

Scott Whitaker (770) 933-6279
